Objects of Curiosities

Prima Materia

prima-materia

‘’Prima Materia’’ is an investigation of the dialogue between the natural and the man-made, addressing the way we perceive everyday object as matter, form and materiality. The hand sculptured form of the marble, sensuously amplifies the fluid qualities of it’s patterns and occupies the floating line/ the grid. This unexpected togetherness between the minimal; the sleekness of the stainless metal sheet and almost liquefied natural mass such as stone, creates a tactile emotional experience; an elusive reference between inside and outside, a subtle exchange between hand and matter, a connection between man and the nature.

‘ In an instant poised between light and earth, we find the land

And yet we catch what is uncatchable; the beauty of the serene

Between these valleys filled with waves of emotions

When a simple strip of light migrating as we move

Where we formed the land with our bare hands

And curved it to our imagination of the hearth

To endure the traces of our fragile existence’
